Off the coast of Califonia on Dec. 13, 1981, Oakland Air Traffic Control, along with Air Defense Command and NORAD radar, painted several hard targets 200 miles off the coast.
The UFOs were traveling in unison, 90 miles apart, when they suddenly made a 180-degree turn at 2,300 miles per hour.
Amazed Air Traffic Controller
One of the amazed traffic controllers reported the incident to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
He seemed excited and quite surprised by the UFO’s ability to fly so fast, yet turn on a dime without missing a beat. They were flying too high and fast to get an exact altitude, but the air traffic controller said they were a minimum of 60.000 feet.
