Shannen Doherty, a beloved star known for her role in ‘90210’, has passed away at the age of 53 after a nearly ten-year battle with breast cancer. Her passing was confirmed by multiple reports.
Her longtime publicist, Leslie Sloane, shared a statement with People magazine expressing deep sorrow over Doherty’s death. Sloane mentioned that Doherty died on Saturday, July 13, surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. The family has requested privacy to grieve in peace.
In April, just a few months before her passing, Doherty discussed her preparations for death on her podcast, ‘Let’s Be Clear’. She spoke about living life to the fullest despite her illness but acknowledged that the long struggle with breast cancer had made her reassess her life and priorities.
A significant priority for her was her mother. Doherty expressed concern about how hard her death would be on her mom and got emotional discussing it.
Doherty also talked about a dream she had of building a property with a house for herself and her mom, extending a barn, and rescuing horses to create a sanctuary.
Although she had started to give up on this dream due to her health, she found peace and calm in focusing on helping her loved ones transition after her passing. She emphasized that she was not giving up on life but rather finding a sense of peace in helping her family have an easier transition.
Through her podcast, Doherty shared that she realized she didn’t need many of the things she had accumulated over her lifetime. By letting go of some possessions, she found the freedom to create new memories for herself and her loved ones. She concluded that letting go of certain things gave her peace of mind and allowed her to focus on making treasured moments.
